Custom Group Charts for NOC views

Hi all,

I'm trying to create a NOC view that uses Availability chart for a group of nodes. We have 6 Groups of nodes and the Availability Chart is a nice easy to see graphic for each. I intend to have 3 columns with two charts in each column. The problem I am having is that all 6 charts display the first group in the list (alphabetically) - i.e. all 6 charts are showing the AUS Radius group and I cant work out where to change the chart so that it shows the group I want. I'm quite sure I'm missing something obvious, but I cannot see it. Can anyone help?

Thanks for that, That's the sort of thing I'm after, but I was hoping there was a way to select the groups natively within the SW UI without having to write custom code / scripts as we don't have any SQL / Java guys or girls to do it. I was hoping for a "Click here and select the group name" kinda option.

When I get back to the office I can check but I'm pretty site either the custom object resource or the custom chart resources could do this entirely with native gui functions.

This might be something interesting to you. The Custom Tile widget provides a quick and easy method for rolling up status of entities, while eliminating having to scroll through endless lists. It will also highlight the most excessive alerts seen from this group of entities.

This is available in the Widget Drawer of course and offers a ton of flexibility to users who want to have a summarized view rolled up in a single resource.

Choose from any entity type currently being monitored by Orion such as, Applications, Transactions, Nodes, or even NetPath Services, and obtain a consolidated roll up of their statuses. Of course Groups are an entity just like any other object in Orion. We have built in a couple of different options.

The Advanced Entity Filter makes it easy to make selections so that you could have Summary Tiles consisting of devices with a specific Custom Property or any other criteria that makes sense for the dashboard you are creating.

The Advanced SWQL Filter is also available if you prefer to unleash your own scripts. Now if you are trying to have the status of each of the group members, than you may want use some sort of method like custom properties so that each widget reflects the members of the group, because adding a single group to each of these widgets won't automatically reflect the members for you.

Thanks for those details. The problem is that the little read and green dots are too small for two large screens mounted on the wall. The nice thing with the charts (although not vert specific) is that the highlight very clearly that there is a problem with a group. The support guys can then open SW on their own PC and drill down into the detail. Having the chars on large screens at the end of the room is for awareness rather than for someone to work directly from. Hope that makes sense.
