Hardware Health monitor issue

I have a problem with hardware health monitor.

My vcenter added to my NPM 11.5 and SAM 6.2.

One of my esxi server's HDD failed and I recive error and change the HDD .

But problem start after that. Error gone from server ilo and vcenter health monitor but in Solarwinds HDD sensor still failed.

Disable and enable the sensor from SAM was useless.

Even I remove and add specific server again.

There is no error log even in server ilo.

So tell me what should I do?

This is a known VMware issue where they are not updating information published via their API properly. The workaround is simple enough. All you need to do is change the polling method from "Poll through vCenter" to "Poll ESX server directly" from [Settings -> Virtualization Settings -> VMware Settings]

aLTeReGo is correct. You can also use this guide Troubleshooting guide for Hardware health for ESX Host server polled through vCenter to check what value the sensor has in vCenter Managed Object Browser from which we take the value. Some customers who did encounter this issue were able to solve it by forcing the vCenter to update the Hardware Health info for the ESX servers. How ever I'm not familiar with that procedure myself. I would advice you to check with VMware support for help with this procedure.

But there is no way even after upgrade vcenter.

I have vcenter 6 last version. but this issue still run.

Is there any different between vcenter poll and esx poll in solarwinds ?

I mean is there different between info that provide any of this polling method?

Hi aLTeReGo,

We are polling an ESX server directly. However, then also we are having discrepancy in the hardware status. In the server's ILO everything is good and healthy, but, in Solarwinds its memory status is Critical. PFB the screenshot for the same. Can you please help with what does 'Non Recoverable Error' specify here ... ?

The article you shared is for fixing the Hardware issue when an ESX is polled through VCenter API. However, I am polling the ESX directly and not through Vcenter.

Can you please help with the KB for fixing the direct polling, instead.
