I am currently POC'ing SAM. So far I really am enjoying the product.
However, management will not pull the trigger on the purchase until i can demonstrate how to produce an "uptime" SLA percentage type graph or number.
I work for a cloud hosting company and we have different types of clouds for customers, some private, some hybrid, some shared. I have been able to get some custom dashboards up and running using custom properties. But what management wants to see is to take that custom dashboard of "stuff" (servers, vmware, hosts, arrays, interfaces, applications/components) and pipe that into some kind of graph that can be given to a customer to show their uptime for their cloud. I have been going round and round with support, who has been great in trying to help, but have been coming up with some dead ends. I guess SW is currently "working" make this a functionality moving forward, but its not on the immediate road map.
I wanted to post here and see if anyone has done anything like this? Im just looking at taking a like group of objects, separated by Custom properties, and piping that to an overall availability chart. A default chart exists in within groups, but I cannot seem to replicate it anywhere.I know about groups and Mixed vs Best vs Worst and how they relate to uptime vs downtime, but I cant get any "update/downtime" anything to work.
