Whenever I make a change on a Cisco FWSM, Cirrus detects the change, but also says that a bunch of blank lines were added and removed. Is there a way to tell Cirrus to ignore blank lines in the Comparison Criteria?
See attached image for an example.
I see it here on other devices (6509, Pix,etc) configs as well.
The spaces are due to the parsing I believe due to a pager 24 command, it should be possible to run a no pager 24 command before your downloads occur....I know this due to a MARS unit stripping that command out so it can grab the entire config without spaces. You could set another schedule task to put the pager 24 back in after the download occurs to make the show run function properly.
The default device command templates for the Cisco PIX devices and Catalyst devices already include the "no pager" and "set length 0" respectively as a Reset command that gets run before downloading of configuration.
b-moore, you're best bet is to submit a ticket to support on on this one. They'll work with you to get a session trace and if this is an issue we can fix in Cirrus, we may be able to target for an appropriate release vehicle.
