Export / Import maps - Network Atlas

Can someone point me to where, once exported, I can then re-import network maps into Network Atlas?

There is clearly an export function available, with various export options, yet look as I have, I see no option anywhere to import back into Network Atlas... ?

Use case for this for me is that I want to clear out a bunch of existing maps without deleting them and then have the option to add them back (import them) should I need to without having to recreate them all.

You should be able to open network atlas and open map and just point to the folder where you exported the maps.

Open the exported map in Atlas then just do a save or save as.

Atlas copies the map into the database.

As long as you are coping from the same install of Orion, it should work fine.

As above by slbaker when in Network Atlas, Click on the Atlas Menu Icon in the top left and choose Open Map. Then find the local file on your machine (Either exported from Network Atlas or NTM) and it will open it on your machine. Then simply save it, and then it will sync into your database and should appear inside your Web UI.

Just remember that the Map will be using Node ID as reference, so if any of your nodes change between the time you export the map and when your re-import it, then the nodes might not be recognised, but that should be fairly easy to fix on a small individual node level.

Isn't the NodeID fixed for each poller (if you have more than one)?

Hi yes NodeID is unique to your Solarwinds instance so my warning was more along the lines of moving maps from one instance to another or even if you delete nodes since the time you exported the map.

So what can be done in this scenario:

My existing (inherited) Solarwinds environment is not designed based on best practices and the only good thing in there are the nodes that are added/monitored and the atlas map.

I want to create NEW environment (reinstall Solarwinds, reorganize the partitions on the server, have another physical dedicated DB - that is virtual at the moment), but want to keep these two "projects" (added nodes and atlas map), can this be done?
