Question About Latency Measurement in Orion

Question

(From my colleague who is not completely sure of how Orion works)Explain the latency measurement of a switch versus the latency experienced by a device on a switch port.   Can a switch that devotes limited bandwidth to host management, that also answers to several monitoring devices show high latency due to too many SNMP requests in a short time period?  Does that switch host port management latency extend to user ports?

NPM latency measures the ping response time from the NPM server to the managed device. This includes the entire path between these two. Users on a switch are connected directly so their response time will be faster than the NPM latency.

Latency over a network is measured in milliseconds; latency to a directly connected switch is measured in microseconds.
