Monitor Scripted IOS Upgrades

Hello All;

My organization is attempting to use NCM to orchestrate an automated IOS upgrade on 200+ Cisco Catalyst 3750 stacks. The scripting of the command works fine in our lab, however, we would like some sort of progress monitoring or logging of the events occurring on the switch during the software download and installation. We would prefer some sort of log file which we can monitor, or an SNMP trap. We could do syslogging on the device, however the type circuits we have at these sites are very low speed (64k on average).

Is there a way which we can perform real time monitoring of the device's IOS upgrade or set up some sort of notification immediately upon completion of the task? Otherwise we'll haveto perform every single upgrade manually.

Yes, on the NCM scheduled job notifications tab, you can setup a notification that will email you the results upon completion. Another mitigation technique might be to break out the task into multiple jobs (e.g. 4 jobs of 50 devices), so you'll be notified sooner of any issues.
