Monitor company website as it was external

Hello everybody,

I was wondering if it was possible to monitor some websites of my company as they were external websites.

I explain :

I monitor one of my websites from inside my network , so IP = 10.x.x.50 for example and it' working well.

I want to do the same from outside, so IP =  85.x.x.x for example. In fact, Orion requests must go out from the network and then re-enter it, passing by the proxy.

Maybe I am wrong, but I think my orion config won't work if I poll the external adress ?

If I follow the request, it should be : Orion ==> proxy / firewall ==> internet ==> proxy /firewall ==> website.

The idea behind this is, to monitor the response time and having 2 values : internal and external. Then create reports on this.

Any comment on this ?

Try this:

Change the name of the internal node to ***** - Internal (***** is the current name)

Add the node again as an External node and use the external IP address and the name ***** - External.

Assign an HTTP or HTTPS monitor to the external node.

Use the proxy settings that work from a browser on the Orion server.

Create the report.

Have a beer.
