Report Generator and Outlook 2007 = Broken

All,

Since Microsoft took it upon themselves to completely gut the HTML rendering engine in Outlook 2007 (Hello Word!

) automatic reports from Orion no longer work!

So, my question is does anyone have a work around for this, or are the SW guys coming up with some sort of solution?

Ideally I'd love to see PDF reports from the generator, or some way to customize the types of reports being sent..

Could you give us more detail on what you expected to happen and what you actually saw?

We haven't tested against Outlook 2007 yet.

Outlook 2007 doesn't know how to deal with the HTML that makes up the message so the only thing you see is a bunch of attached (not displayed) files, normally I'd see a fully rendered and correct HTML email..

It's gonna be a big problem, but not something you guys created!

Use Thunderbird, If have found the exact same problem.

I downloaded Thunderbird, and voilia IT WORKS>>>

Well, Outlook 2007 is used since it's the latest and greatest, there are many other features that are good, which is why we're using it..

We have added this as a bug. I'm not sure if it'll make it into 8.1 or a subsequent release.

Hello:

One solution we use it to take the URLs for the reports and post them in Microsoft SharePoint.

A URL like this monster:

http://<orion web srvr>/NetPerfMon/Report.asp?Report=Available+Space+on+each+Volume&Printable=TRUE

Creates a nicely formatted report in SharePoint but only on demand, and without cluttering up Exchange.
