Mail sender credentials

Hi, I can't manage to authenticate to the smtp server with Office365 smtp server. I always get the Unknown user name or bad password error. I use the same configuration on my Splunk server and it's working. Whatever changes I make in the configuration, I always get the same successful email test message, even with a non existing smtp server but nothing is going through. Thanks for the help!

Hi ayylmao,

sorry to say, Unfortunately there is no way to enter o365 as an email receiver. Maybe it is supporting in one of the next releases. At the moment only on prem server are supported.

With O365 I have had many client who had an on prem mail relay server that just punts things from their internal system out to the cloud, such a thing may be in place at your org.

Hi ayylmao,

the limitation is currently just for email notifications from ARM server. Here you need to enter an on prem SMTP server.

What is working in cloud is:

- receiving, creating and deleting Azure AD Accounts

- Exchange Online (creating mailbox, distribution groups, Out of Office and a lot more)

- SharePoint Online (Receiving Permission on each element and setting Permission and show which user has access where together with an on Prem AD you can see which AD user is in which is in which O365 Group / SharePoint Group)

- OneDrive

On Prem World

- Active Directory (Group, User etc.)

- File Server (Windows, NetAPP, EMC, CIFS in gerenral)

- SharePoint

- Exchange

- MS SQL

The feature list itself is extreme long so what exactly is what you are looking for? My clients I train ARM 2 days minimum to understand around 60% of the product.
