Backup Cisco ASA 5500 flash card.

I've got a few ASA 5500's for SSL remote access clients, and I have DAP's, CSD, and AnyConnect client versions on the flash cards of my Cisco ASA's. Is there a way I can get NCM to copy these files from the flash cards?

I'm thinking I have to execute a script to kick off a TFTP transfer, but how have you guys done it?

TFTP will be the only way I can think of. You would just need to write a custom script in NCM to telnet/ssh to the device and execute the TFTP script to download the contents of the Flash to your desired folder on the NCM server.

Do you have a link going over the scripting language used by NCM? This will be my first custom NCM script.

Hi,

That depends on how complicated the script is.

If it's only a fixed set of commands, you can use the Execute Script functionality. Here you enter the same commands you would enter when connecting to the device directly (over ssh/telnet). The commands are not interpreted by NCM in any way, they are just sent to the device. (OK, you can use some macros.)

If you need a more complicated flow control (conditions, loops etc.), you have to use Config Change Templates.

A simply script does what I need what I need. Set the TFTP to rename conflicts so I've have a rolling archive. Had it running for a few days now and it all looks good.
