Server 2008 R2 to Virtual Appliance?

I'm currently running 11.2.0 - Build #11.2.0.5 on a Server 2008 R2 vSphere VM using FrontBase (embedded), and I'm wondering if there are any instructions for migrating to a 12.0 Virtual Appliance?

Would it be a simple matter of setting up the new Virtual Appliance and then moving / converting the DB? What about all the configuration settings? Is there a way to export those?

Hi,

there is a Knowledge Base article that should help you solve your case:

SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: How to Migrate FrontBase DB from one Operating System (OS) to PostgreSQL DB to Another OS

Please note that there are planned some updates to that article (adding some examples to be easier and more clear) but hopefully you should be able to manage it using those steps.

Thanks for that. Does the DB contain all settings or just assets, tickets, custom fields etc?

There is additional settings in configuration file "whd.conf" (typically in location /usr/local/webhelpdesk/conf). It contains details about port for you website, privileged networks etc.
