Create nested groups (not nested maps)

Hello All,

I'm using groups to display the status of multiple remote sites, and I want to create nested groups under each site to show various system groups within each site.

Question - how do I nest the groups to basically create a drill-down for each site?

Example:

Site 1

File servers

SQL servers

Site 2

File servers

SQL servers

Thanks for the reply. Maybe my question is actually simpler than the scenario in the links above.

Within APM, I'm just trying to have a "Site" group listed on the Summary page...got that. Listed under that group, I want another group called "App Servers", "SQL", etc that contain the nodes for seperation and grouping purposes. How do I create them? Something like, Go to Settings, Manage Groups, Add sub-group...or make "this" group a child group of group "X"? Hopefully it's a simple process. :-)

Think about creating sub-folders in Win Explorer, or sub-OU's in AD.

If I'm understanding you properly, you're referring to the grouping function found in the All Applications resource. If so, you know you can group down to three levels. Based on your example, a possible suggestion for the three levels would be:

Level 1:
Node Location

Level 2:
Application Template

Level 3:
[Custom property that you define]

Hopefully, this is what you're referring to since I don't recall any other method to group applications.
