How to generate a report detailing software installed on workstations

I apologize in advance if I'm not asking this in the right place.

I need to generate a report detailing software installed on workstations so that I can find out how many copies of Visio, Adobe Pro, etc. are out there and who has them.

Can this be done in Web Help Desk or do I need a different tool?
