Netpath for Internal (site to site) not responding

I am trying to setup netpath to go from out remote sites to our datacenter. I've set one up and it has yet to return back any information. I dropped the polling down to 5 minutes and still nothing. Its using an account that has domain credentials so it should be getting through. What am i missing?

It turns out that it was firewall related. I ended up making sure the ports where open, that once I did that it worked.

Sounds like you may have a port/firewall issue. What port are you using? Have you confirmed you can communicate bidirectionally from the agent machine (sounds like your NPM server).

So by "no information", do you mean that when you view the path you only see the error messages stating that no data is available? Can you verify that the Netpath plugin was correctly installed? Instructions can be found in this post: Netpath

I confirmed that it was installed on one, another one it didn't show netpath agent was installed but an agent was installed. I ran through the post for confirming netpath agent.

That could definitely be an issue with the firewall. I can do a netpath from Orion to the site, but not from the site to Orion. As far as ports go I have tried 80, 121, 443, and 445 with no luck. I am definitely open for suggestions.

To verify that the issue is firewall-related, try running tracetcp ( http://SimulatedSimian.github.io/tracetcp) from the probe machine to your target:

tracetcp (site):(port)

If it fails, then likely your firewall is blocking access to those ports or ICMP replies.netpath

both of these have been running for a while now. I set the interval for 2 minutes, and they still have yet to do their first poll. I will try the tracetcp and see what i get.

Ahh ok thanks that helps. While there may still be firewall issues, this is an issue with the agent since no path is being returned. Here's a few thing to check:

Enable debugging for NetPath
Check NetPath logs (C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Logs\NetPath) for exceptions.
If you see "Completed" with Test Results, then the likely cause is a problem storing to the database. So move to step 3. If not, this indicates a problem with the poller which will require logs to help analyze.
Check the C:\ProgramData\Solarwinds\Collector\Logs\Collector.Service.log
If it is a license issue, you will see "Evaluation expired" in the log
