Is it possible to add a prefix to Incidents and Changes? For example, I'd like all Incidents to start with INCXXXX and all Changes to start with CRXXXXX. If so, where is this done. Thanks
This is not an available feature. To get around this, you could write a script that checks whether or not a ticket is an incident/change and then change the request subject to append "Incident" or "Changes" to the start of the ticket.
I see this post is 4 years old. any progress on this part, feature enhancements upon requests.
Any workaround and if yes.. Please share the detailed steps please.. Much help and greatly appreciated.

There is no way to add another prefix. There are two KB's that show how to reset the numbering or reset and start at a certain number but nothing about adding a prefix.
My suggestion is to add a read-only custom field that is set when either an incident or Problem is created. Set by an action rules...
Depending on what you want to do with it after, query or a report, you can also add Ticket Type (or a custom field) to your column set.
