show thin APs in network maps

We have an Aruba wireless controller with about 40 thin APs. When displaying the controllers details page, I can see a list of thin APs as well as a list of interfaces. However, when creating a network map, only the interfaces can be used.

Is there a way to display the thin APs connected to the controller on network maps without having to add every single one as additional node?

One idea would be to add the thin AP's as ICMP only nodes into NPM and then they can be added to the map.
