Auto assign assets to a user

I wonder if you can help me here. i have just downloaded the trial of WHD and want to be able to automatically assign an asset to a user. is there away to do this or is it a manual process?

Yes, It is all manual. We have added almost all of our devices into assets .

What I have been doing is whenever I receive new stock I enter the computers information in as an unassigned asset so when a new client is added I just assign that asset to them and change the status to deployed with the date they will receive it. It is manual but does save a little time when assigning it.

That is a great idea! We also added all of our office keys for Microsoft so that come audit time , (If Needed) all the info is in one place and backed up.

I added all of our software licenses to it so you can track and see who has what so in the event if a user leaves the company I can make sure we got all of that returned. I also created custom fields in the assets where I store all login and password information so if I need to do an upgrade or repair when they are not in the office I can still log in.
