Connecting to embedded PostgreSL embedded database

Because the WHD reporting tool is so lacking in customization and functionality, I want to connect to our database with a report writer. Our WHD implementation uses the embedded PostrgreSQL database, and I'd like to connect to it with Tableau. What would our database name be? I don't see where we would have the option to enter one.

I believe the username and password are both whd for the database, as well as the database name.

Can you connect using SSMS or do you need something like dbForge Studio for PostgreSQL? We are a SQL Server shop and I have never used PostgreSQL so I am trying to figure out the basics so I can connect and build reports.
