SSL certificate is invalid in Safari and Chrome but not in Firefox -- Tomcat

We are using InCommon CA certificates (not self-signed certs) with the alias names intermed, root and tomcat and followed this guide to implement them: Add SSL certificates to the virtual appliance

Tomcat version 7.0.68

WHD version 12.4.1 - Build #12.4.1.983

RHEL 7.2

What have been your experiences with WHD and Tomcat for those that use CA certs? Did you follow the guide and implement both root and intermediate?
