Hello all,
I'm new to SolarWinds Server & Application monitor but have been making very good progress with it lately. In exploring the options available to monitor our Exchange 2007 environment, I've noticed something unique about our setup that SolarWinds doesn't seem to recognize. Allow me to try to articulate this issue.
On our mailbox servers, we have 1 mdb per storage group. Each storage group is it's own seperate drive. Those drives are not physical drives in the server but rather space on our SAN that has been added to the Exchange mailbox server as a mount point (there are no drive letters assigned). This allows us to expand the size of sg's on the fly and, theorically, there is no limit to how large a single sg/mdb can grow. The problem with this, as far as SolarWinds is concerned, is that it doesn't "see" those drives as volumes when I added the mailbox server as a node. It only sees drives that have drive letters assigned.
Since I'm so new to SolarWinds (literally 3 weeks), I'm not even sure how to ask this but here goes. Is there a way to monitor drive space on a volume with no drive letter assigned?
Thanks,
