Configuring alerts over many timezones

Hi:

I'm creating separate advanced alerts for my different time zones. For example, say a specific site goes down for maintenance between 12 AM and 3 AM Sunday mornings... I need to be able to ignore the monitors during this window.

In CST I have one alert, in PST another, etc...

It would be cool if I could grab the TZ setting for the specific node and base my "ignore" window on that reference but... I don't see any such capability.

How are you handling such scenarios?

I have been fighting with this for years on Orion.  there are historical threads where i was asking if i could use times within the condition tabs in the advanced alert, but no joy.

 

My ideas would be something like custom properties for the support window of a specific node.  you could then have a trigger that said something like time is > than node.suport_window_start and < node.support_window_end etc...

 

would be super

 

though i would rather be able to set supported windows on devices, so the node was essentially unmanaged out of hours... 

 

of course, it is not that simple, as you might have nodes you want stats for out of hours, but no alerting, but some you want essentially unmanaged.

 

you would then want to alert on them if they were DOWN after the support window starts, if it went down during the unsupported window, but was still down when the support window starts

 

any comments solarwinds?  i guess it is related to the work you were doing on the reboot alerts, where we would like schedule recurring maintenance windows, which has been posted to death lol
