SQL Statistics For Analysis Period

Does anyone know or understand why "SQL Statistics For Analysis Period" only works some of the time. I have a query that I have been tracking. Up until February 7, if I run analysis on the query, it displays the "SQL Statistics For Analysis Period" information. Since the 7th it no longer appears. Is this common? Is there a way to ensure that this data is always saved and generated in the analysis?

What database platform are you monitoring? There can be many reasons stats are not available, but primarily, DPA will only be as good as the system level tables allow. A great example is recompilations of SQL statements - that resets all statistics for that query...

SQL Server. It works part of the time, but it is spotty.

OK, yep, some common reasons for lack of stats are:

Rollback (for transactions)
Statement didn't complete within the window or timeframe being viewed
Statistics got reset in the DMVs (recompilation)

There are certainly other causes as well. If you do want to dig deeper on this, I'd suggest opening a support ticket and then we can share the query we use to pull stats. That way you can go after the raw data to see what we're getting from SQL Server...
