LEM Upgrade Time Required

Is there any way to estimate the amount of time a LEM upgrade on a standalone appliance will take? Specifically we're going to upgrade from 6.3.1HF7 to 6.4. I'd like to give my support teams some estimate of downtime. I can reasonably estimate the time it will take for agents (~660) to upgrade, but I'm primarily concerned about how long of an outage the appliance itself will be down.

Generally speaking, an appliance upgrade doesn't take very long - I would say around 15 minutes or so, but you could allow 30 minutes to be safe. You can upgrade via mounting an ISO to your hypervisor or extracting the upgrade zip file to a network share, all steps are listed in the LEM Upgrade Guide. Worth noting that LEM 6.6 shipped earlier this month and I'd recommend upgrading to that version. However, you will need to upgrade from 6.3.1 -> 6.4 and then from 6.4 -> 6.6.

Thanks. The total time was around 15 minutes and we had no issues. The agents are upgrading to 6.4 now. Once things are stable and we are sure no issue have arisen, we'll upgrade to 6.6. That will probably happen not long after the new year.

We upgraded from 6.4 to 6.6 today. One thing that I noticed is that the email active response connector configuration disappeared. I had to recreate it and email is flowing again. Have there been any other reports of this happening with this upgrade? It concerns me if this was removed, what other configurations might have been lost? I don't see any other errors at the moment, but I can't immediately prove a negative, so..........
