I have version 12.1.0 and just want to export all tickets to access or excel to do some reporting. Having a hard time trying to figure that out.
Anyone know how?

If the built in reporting is not good enough you will likely be better off getting your DBA person to do a view and do some direct reporting. from the DB if you have a lot of tickets and excel file could get unweildly pretty quickly if you have alot of tickets or many custom fields.
Also 12.1 is fully out of support and 12.2 is already out of engineering support and goes end of life in Nov 2018. Unless you are trying to dump the DB to move to another product you should really look at updating.
Not sure but I think it's using the proprietary database and not SQL. Not sure how to access the data.
I see no SQL tools on the server.
And yes, I will be upgrading soon. Waiting on funds.
To check what DB type you are using log in as an admin go to --> Setup --> Database the look at the drop down called Vendor. This will show you what type of DB you are using. It will be MS SQL, PostgreSQL or MYsql. On that screen you will also see the DB connection setings if the database is on a different server.
