Random ?'s Inserted into Alert Email Addresses

We're using a custom property that populates the email address for our Alerts, ${TeamEmail}- recently, we have noticed that some email addresses are getting random ?'s inserted into the email addresses- For example, BuildingMaintenance@domain.com is inserted into the alert email address field as Buildin?gMainte?nance@domain.com.

When I check the email addresses on the Node they appear correct. However, if I copy them and paste them into a text document the ?'s show up. Any idea what would be causing this and how to fix it? I have over 4000 Nodes that I am alerting on and really don't have time to go back and manually check/fix each one.

We found what we think to be the problem: users were pasting email addresses into the Node Custom Properties from another webpage. We've cleaned the offending non-ASCII characters out of the Orion DB and are now using ONLY text files to copy/paste into the Custom Property fields.
