Alert Notifications on Status Changes

I have set up a custom alert to monitor the availability of SQL Server 2012 Availability Group nodes. The alert triggers as expected, but no other notification is sent when the situation resolves.

I have another alert set up, the pre-packaged "Database Instance Availability" alert, which exhibits the behavior I want to replicate in my custom alert in that notifications are sent both when the issue occurs and when it is resolved.

Is it possible for me to set up the same behavior on my custom alert?

You have to set up the reset action in the alert set up.  See below:

So if you send an email in the trigger action to let people know, you have to set it up in reset action.  You can just click the highlighted area of "copy actions from trigger actions tab" and it will just apply who the alert went to in the trigger action to the reset action for you.
