Syslog archiving

I was using an older version of Syslogd (8.0.2) that added an hour to the filename when archiving on an hourly basis. The filename would look like YYYY-MM-DD-HH-SyslogCatchAll.txt.

I just downloaded the newest version (8.3.52) and when archiving I get files named YYY-MM-DD(x).txt where x increments each time the file is saved.

If there is a setting to get it to work like the older version I can't find it. Am I overlooking something?

It isn't an option. You have to manually append -HH to the existing YYYY-MM-DD option.

I've conferred with dev and this is still possible. It's still possible. You'll just need to set the filename datestamp format to YYYY-MM-DD-HH. You'll need to go to the schedule configuration for archive and navigate to the destination tab.

That option does not exist. It didn't exist in the earlier version either, it just "magically" appended a 2 digit hour to the filename.

Any other suggestions?

That worked. Sorry, I had no idea you could change that. I thought you were limited to the options that were provided. Sometimes I'm a little slow...
