How can I change this so it doesnt try to get to my dns name using port 8081? I want it to resolve to port 80 like when logging into my helpdesk.
thanks
I have a similar problem. Currently the link shows up as http://server-name:8081. Our staff at other branches can't access this link and I would like to change it to http://domain-name:8081. Is that possible?
its in the template section under email settings. You need to go through each template and change the URL to what you want it to be, rather than the generated link.
If I go to General => Options => Server DNS Name
The information icon says that this is the place to change it.
Changing it to our domain, does not change it in the email still...
This could be the settings that might solves Scot's issue with the port number.
It seems that this may be a bug. The info text says:
Name of server as it should appear in URLs generated for the Web Help Desk. If the Web Help Desk is running on a port other than 80, the port should be specified (e.g., 'company.com:8081').
If you change it to say "company.com:8089" then the links in the email are: "company.com:8081:8089"
