IP SLA Operations via Non-member IP

Hi,

I have a question regarding ICMP echo operations added in IP SLAM. Is it possible to add an ICMP Echo operation with both source and destination IPs not included in NPM as nodes? Since we are running so many VRFs in our network, some IPs belonging to a certain VRF are not reachable from our Orion server, but its loopback on the same router is reachable, which is on another VRF. With scripting, we can access all ip sla statistics on a router by snmp via the loopback IP. Is this possible as well in SolarWinds IPSLAM? Since the loopback IP is added as a node in NPM, we can monitor the IPSLA operations configured on that router?

if you have created an operation manually on your device and it is collecting your data as expected, and the device is included in NPM nodes, whatever IP address is used there, you should be able to add the operation for monitoring in IP SLA Manager. Once added, IP SLA Manager should poll for the data as it was created in IP SLA Manager itself.

However, you should be able to create the operation in IP SLA Manager as well. You can specify an external target for the operation (whatever IP address you need) and you can adjust operation properties and the source IP address you want the operation to use when executed. You can also specify VRF name there as needed.
