IP SLA ICMP Echo operation

Question

Hi,

Is it possible to add an IP SLA ICMP operation with just the source node added as an IP SLA node?The target node that I'm trying to ping is not being managed by our team (hassles in community strings, etc) so I was hoping that the operation will still work after adding it to IP SLA Manager.

Hello,

yes, it is possible if I understand your intention well. You should try the Custom Path option in Operation Wizard's Define Paths step. In the screen that follows, you can select a source IP SLA node for your operation and also specify an external target (its IP address).

Note, this feature is available starting IP SLA Manager 3.1.
