Cisco ASA and -More- config changes

Often, when we make a simple configuration change on our Cisco ASAs, we get the following change notification email:

BEFORE		AFTER
Today 4/30/2009 9:32:32 AM		ADDS 4, DELETES 4, CHANGES 0
		<--- More --->

	<--- More --->

		<--- More --->

	<--- More --->

( I assume this pasted ok )

This one only has a couple of "more" items, but some notifications have a dozens or more. Very unuseful information. Are others with ASA experiencing this?

ASA 8.0(4)28 and NCM 5.1.1

For those experiencing this issue, please open a support ticket. The More prompt shouldn't be included in the configs.

I would verify the correct template is being used.

Try manually selecting the template: Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Version 7.2(3)

This should work with Version 8.0 also.

The problem may be that the command for "terminal length 0" is not a valid command on an ASA. The correct command is "Terminal Pager 0"

Do the templates only get updated when a new version of NCM comes out or is it possible to download them individually?

Currently running NCM 5.5 and having this exact problem, I assume because NCM is not detecting the ASA5520 (running version 8) correctly.

When you say that NCM 5.5 is not detecting the ASA5520 correctly, can you clarify what you mean?

Also, what is the system OID of your Cisco ASA listed in the device details view?

The 5.5.1 Cisco ASA template includes the "terminal pager 0" command.

I don't have such a template, mine is saying ASA 7 only.

It appears the naming may have changed with upgrades, so in the Device types folder it is:

Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Version 7-1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.669.ConfigMgmt-Commands

I am now showing in the drop down from the NCM 5.2 Gui as being Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Version 7

That's correct. Please use this latest version of the template. This works with v7 or v8. We're changing the name to be non-version specific to eliminate any confusion.
