Bump. Has anyone used this at all?

I've had a case open for this since early March. I've emailed support twice in the last 30 days and haven't received any update whatsoever. The last thing I heard was that a fix was going to be released. There has been two Service Packs released since that time.

Those credentials need to be valid for both the Orion server and be valid for the exchange server. You need to be able to log onto the Orion server using those credentials. Exchange also needs to have a mailbox for those credentials.

When I test two of my monitors I get the following error: "Message was not found in the inbox."

Is the message being sent? Are they showing up in the mailbox? This monitor works by sending an email to the SMTP server you specified. It then checks the MAPI mailbox fro that message. From the error, it sounds like the mail isn't making it to the mailbox. Can you see it in Outlook?

The four setup of NT credentials that I created each have a mailbox that resides on the corresponding exchange server. e.g. Mailbox1 lives on exchange server 1, mailbox 2 lives on exchange server 2...etc.

Yes, I have full access to the mailboxes in my own Outlook and they do arrive.

Did you solve it? I have a similar problem, but only with one mailbox.

I have orion apm 4.0.1. I have modified the Blackberry Delivery Confirmation script to access to my mailbox on exchange with mapi.

If I execute the script in "command prompt" in the orion server (Windows 2008 server) it works fine, because it ask me the credential (user name, domain and password), but, if I try to execute it from orion it doesn´t work.

I think that could be a problem with credentials, because I don´t know where put the domainname. In orion I can only write user name and password, but not the domain.

The orion server is not in domain.

Any idea?

Yes, I finally did get it working. To be honest, it’s been so long I don't recall what exactly was the fix. Since your Orion box isn't in the same domain, I'm not sure how that would work. You may want to try contacting Support and opening a case. I wish I could help more.

javier.martinez2, you'll want to pass the domain as part of the user name. You should be able to use domain\username (which is the preferred method) or username@domain.

Alterego: I´ve alreday tried it, but doesn´t work.

I have tested with both options in "credential for monitoring"

javiermsda\orion and orion@javiermsda

where javiermsda is my domain and orion is the user of the account (the account is orion.npm@jmg.es) but doesn´t work.

I´ve tried also with

user: orion

password: xxxxxxx

And the result is time out.

If I execute the script in command line work perfect, but from orion not. Is there any kind of send the "domainname" by param?

What version of APM are you running and are you running APM on 64bit Windows?

Orion npm 10.1.1 SP1 y apm 4.0.1 and the O.S. is Windows 64 bits.

I've introduced the machine monitored in the exchange domain, then It works. As the server is in exchange domain, the credentials for login into the server and the credentials mailbox are the same, so the script works fine.

But, is it possible assign this template in any machine which not belong exchange domain? Or is it possible that a template assigned to a node modify the state of other node?

Attached is an updated BES delivery confirmation script that support 64bit Windows. Replace the script body of the component monitor with the script attached and it should work better for you.

Thanks alterego, but as I said in my last post, the script works fine in orion if the node which have assigned the script is into the domain.

But, for example:

- I have a mailbox

- I want to check the mailbox to found a pattern (in any message), for example "oracle error"

- The machine which execute the script which check the mailbox is different that my oracle machine

¿Is it possible to assign a new node status for my oracle machine if the script found a pattern?

The script would need to be significantly modified to search for a specific pattern like "oracle error". As the script works today it's expecting to receive a delivery confirmation email when run successfully. In your example however you want the inverse. I.E. fail only if you see this error.
