API - how do I adjust who creates the ticket?

Sorry I'm pretty new to all this.

I setup the API to connect WHD to an internal webform.

Got everything working pretty well - but every ticket says I'm the creator.

I want the client to be the creator - but I don't see where to change this.

Can someone help?

I assume you are using your account to authenticate via the API?

Yes. I tried using just the API key (without my user account) but couldn’t get that to authenticate.

I have been doing some testing looking for some of the same answers with the API and found the ticket must be submitted by the user with user's password for the ticket to display "Created By: user". If you create the ticket with Tech API key or application API key the tech username will be used when the tickets generate "Created By: Technician".

I got it working by posting to API client Interface URL with client username/email/password combination.

Each Client request to the Web Help Desk REST API requires authentication. You can use the following authentication methods:

- Authenticating with username/email/password combination

- Authenticating with a temporary session key

Feature Requests:

- Allow option to supply "createdBy" data as an accepted POST ticket field value when submitting with Tech API or application API keys.

- It would also be nice to be able to submit tickets by a "client Admin" account if they can make tickets on behalf of other users (perhaps using application API key or clientAdmin API key)
