Simple MIB Report

Apologies if this has been answered, I cannot find it.

I'm trying to create a report Orion Report Writer to give me two things:

Node Name - A MIB Value

I seem to be running into a wall and cannot get the report to display the specific MIB value.

What am I missing?

Can you explain more what you need. What MIB value? Do you have a UnDP created?

Sure -

I'm using a MIB to pull the date when a UPS last had it's battery changed (OID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.534.1.10.8). I do have a Universal Device Poller created - I have it displaying under the Node View correctly, just can't get it to come up in a report.

OK you can create a new report in report writer and select "Current Status of Nodes, Interfaces, etc." and when you add a field to the report, in the dialog you can choose custom pollers

Yeah, that is what I've been trying to do. When I try and add the "Custom Pollers" it gives me a nice long list, but none of them provide the actual info from the MIB. If I choose "MIB" the report just shows the MIB name. There is nothing there the specifies my custom poller.

Try Custom Pollers> Custom Node Pollers> Poller Name

then "is equal to" 'BatteryLastReplacedDate' or whatever the PollerName is.

I got that name from the screenshot above.

I am also trying to create a report built around a custom poller, but can't figure out how to get the field to display the result of the poller, which should be the serial number of some Cisco devices. The serial number is returned when I test the UDP in the Wizard, so how can I get that same information to display in a report?

When I choose for the Field: Custom Pollers - Custom Node Pollers - Status, it returns Unknown. OID returns the OID and DateTime shows me the last time the devices were polled. Any help? Thanks!

I have pretty much that exact report and I am able to get the data from the Custom Node Pollers - Status field. On the poller I am using the OID for CiscoSerialNum and I have the poller configured to NOT store historical data. In the report I have a Filter Results rule that says Poller Name is equal to CiscoSerialNum.

If you are having issues getting the data with the report you may need to take a look in your database to see if and how the data is getting stored.

Byron - thank you for your post. The solution for me was to change the Field Formatting for the Status column to No Formatting. Curious, I just searched the MIB tree for CiscoSerialNum and got nothing. Did you download the MIB from Cisco?
