WHD trial sync'd with SCCM 2012 SP1 CU2 having duplicate machines show up

All PCs/Servers show up twice under assets, but any iphones, ipads, androids, etc - those all show up only once. I am using the default mapping attributes - can anyone point out what I'm doing wrong to get duplicate PCs? It lists duplicates regardless of how many NICs they have... Assets shows the same thing (same IP, same serial number, same ASSET number even!) for both assets.

Weird... I deleted all my assets - didn't change any mappings or any settings - just resync'd to see what would happen and this time it worked normally. No dupes! No idea what's was going on... but it's awesome now

The only asset sync you have enabled is from SCCM?

Correct - the only thing under the "Discovery Connections" section is our SCCM server. No other method is entered, nor has it ever been entered... fresh install. (hyper-v demo/trial file)...

I have sccm 2012 sync and its good, the only time I get duplicates is when I also sync with SAM or NPM.

A web helpdesk tech told me this

"...The reason for this is that synchronization is based on (1) Asset No., (2) MAC Address or (3)
Serial No., and none of those attributes can be obtained via Orion discovery
tool.

The problem with duplication occurs when there is no Asset with aforementioned
parameters found in database while synchronization is in process"

The only thing I could think of trying would be to remove all assets, then change the attribute mapping to map the IP to the MAC address. Re import and see if it happens again.

I have found a handful of things with WHD syncing that could use some work.
