Discovery Agent not displaying Last Reboot

Can the Discovery Agent collect and expose Windows Last Boot Time or System Uptime as a searchable asset field, and can it be surfaced as an asset column and reportable metric? We recently deployed the agent to all our systems, and we are unable to locate this information in the portal and hoping we are either missing something or can it be configured.

You’re not missing anything—currently, the SolarWinds Service Desk (SWSD) Discovery Agent does not natively collect or expose Last Boot Time or System Uptime as a standard asset field, column, or reportable metric. The agent tracks check-in timestamps (Last Seen / Updated At) alongside hardware and software inventory, but not OS uptime.

If this is a critical metric for your team (e.g., tracking reboot compliance after patching), here are the two best ways to handle it:

1. Workaround via Custom Field & API:
   • Create an Asset Custom Field in SWSD (e.g., Last Boot Time under Setup > Assets / Service Desk > Custom Fields).
   • Deploy a lightweight PowerShell script via Intune, GPO, or your management tool to grab (Get-CimInstance Win32_OperatingSystem).LastBootUpTime and push it to the computer record via the SWSD REST API.
   • Once populated, that custom field can be added as a column in your Computers inventory list, filtered, and pulled into custom reports.
2. Submit / Upvote on the SWSD Ideation Forum:
   • This has been a popular request from system admins managing reboot policies. I recommend posting or upvoting this in the SWSD Feature Requests section on THWACK so the product team can track community demand.
