Requirement / Business Need
We would like to request an enhancement to the SolarWinds Network Traffic Analyzer (NTA) reporting functionality to support point-in-time Ingress and Egress traffic rates.
Currently, the NTA NetFlow Navigation view provides traffic rate information at a specific point in time, which allows us to identify the actual traffic rate observed during a particular time interval.
However, the available NTA reporting options do not provide the same point-in-time Ingress/Egress rate value in a report. The reporting functionality primarily provides aggregated values such as SUM/AVERAGE/MAX Bytes
over the selected reporting period.
Requested Enhancement
We request SolarWinds Development to consider adding an option in NTA Reports to retrieve and display:
- Ingress Rate (Mbps) – Point in Time
- Egress Rate (Mbps) – Point in Time
- Timestamp corresponding to the traffic measurement
- Source IP / Destination IP
- Source Interface / Destination Interface, where applicable
- Application / Protocol, where applicable
The reported rate should correspond to the traffic rate available in the NetFlow Navigation view for the same timestamp/time interval.
