Requirement
SolarWinds Platform 2026.2.1 introduces a new Load Balancing option under Deployment. We would like to have an additional option to create and use Node Groups for controlling how nodes are distributed between an Additional Polling Engine (APE) and a High Availability (HA) server.
Currently, when load balancing is enabled between the APE and HA, we would like the ability to define which nodes should be polled by the APE and which nodes should be polled by the HA server.
Proposed Enhancement
Add a Node Group–based polling assignment option within the Load Balancing configuration.
For example:
- Node Group 1 – Critical Network Devices
- Node Group 2 – Business-Critical Devices
- Node Group 3 – Branch Devices
- Node Group 4 – Data Center Devices
The administrator should be able to select a Node Group and assign its polling preference to a specific polling engine.
