Polling methods used by your organization?

We currently poll our devices using SNMP for the network gear and servers and now that we have switched to the observability licensing we have the option to use the full version of log analyzer. To do so I have to switch the polling method from snmp to agent based. Has anyone identified a workarounds to using both the solarwinds agent for LA funtions like log file monitoring and SNMP for system resource monitoring? I prefer not to switch so we retain our polling data and don't have to perform node rediscoveries for all of our monitored objects.

If you want to forward windows event logs to LA without monitoring the server with an agent, you have a few options. Like installing the free SolarWinds event log forwarder, that forwards event logs to syslog. You can also configure windows event log to forward the events to another server that has the agent.

But, you will get more data from your servers if you move away from snmp to either agent or WMI - So I would go that way.
