Adjusting Widget Height on Dashboard

When attempting to Customize a Dashboard, I am unable to adjust the height of the Widgets within the page. I swore at one point, you could grab the corner of a Widget and drag to the desired height. This is clearly not the case now.

If this is supposed to auto-adjust due to content size, this is not working for Custom HTML Widget that was created for embedded insight to our ThousandEyes Embedded Widget. This dashboard not only doesn't auto-adjust size, it also requests Cookie Requests each refresh.

In version 2025.1.1 of the SolarWinds Platform, you are likely encountering the specific behavior of Modern Dashboards versus Classic Views. The "drag to resize" functionality has changed slightly in the new UI, and Custom HTML widgets behave differently regarding scaling and session persistence.

You are correct that you should be able to drag the corner, but the method depends on the dashboard type:

Modern Dashboards: You must click the Pencil Icon (Edit) in the top right of the dashboard first. Once in "Edit" mode, a handle should appear in the bottom right corner of the widget. If it isn't appearing, ensure your browser isn't zoomed in/out (keep it at 100%), as the scaling can sometimes "bury" the hit-box for the resize handle.
Classic Dashboards (Views): These generally do not support free-form vertical resizing via dragging. They use a column-based layout where the widget height is determined by the content.

The Custom HTML Widget is notorious for not "auto-adjusting" to the height of an <iframe>. Because the iframe is a window into another site (ThousandEyes), SolarWinds cannot "see" how tall that content is to adjust the box for you.

The Workaround: Instead of relying on the widget container, hard-code the height into your HTML. Wrap your ThousandEyes embed code in a div with a fixed height:

Adjust the 600px until it matches the dashboard's layout.

The reason you see cookie prompts on every refresh is due to Cross-Site Tracking protections in modern browsers (Chrome/Edge/Safari). Since ThousandEyes is a different domain than your SolarWinds instance, the browser treats the ThousandEyes cookies as "third-party."

You need to add your SolarWinds URL to the Trusted Sites or "Allow Cookies" list in your browser settings.
For ThousandEyes specifically: Ensure you are using a Snapshot or Live Share link that allows "Public" or "Embed" viewing without an active session, otherwise, the iframe will constantly challenge for a login/cookie consent because it can't maintain the session state inside the SolarWinds wrapper.

Thanks so much for the quick response. I was able to utilize the code to set the height, so I really appreciate the help.

I'm still not able to get the cookie prompt to stop after adding the [*.]thousandeyes.com and checking the "include third-party cookies on this site" on Edge. We have Trusted Sites locked down, so I may need to reach out to a teammate on adding it there as well. But I did get the URL from the Embedded Widgets under the Sharing Option in ThousandEyes, so I believe this is the correct approach.
