DPA 2026.1 Release
SolarWinds is pleased to announce the general availability (GA) of Database Performance Analyzer (DPA) 2026.1. This release supports OAuth 2.0 for alert email authentication and introduces a new discovery capability that helps you identify databases across your network for potential monitoring.
DPA 2026.1 Release Notes
OAuth 2.0 for MS Exchange Online
To enhance security, Microsoft is phasing out basic SMTP authentication for Exchange Online in favor of OAuth 2.0, with enforcement beginning in March 2026. This change affects environments where DPA is configured to use Exchange Online for alert email delivery.
To prevent service disruptions, upgrade to DPA 2026.1 and update your SMTP configuration to use OAuth 2.0 with Microsoft Exchange Online.
Database Discovery - New!
DPA 2026.1 introduces a new database discovery feature that identifies database instances across your network and streamlines the onboarding process for monitoring.
With this capability, DPA scans user-specified IP addresses and ports to detect database instances that are not yet registered in DPA. Discoveries feed directly into the registration workflow, with IP address and port information automatically populated, reducing time to value and accelerating visibility across your database estate.
Future enhancements to discovery will include:
- Cloud account–based database discovery
- Shared discovery results across multiple DPA deployments
- Expanded intelligence and automation
