New Format options in Modern Dashboards

Hi everyone,

While working on the creation of new dashboards, I noticed two new formatting options available for columns in Modern Dashboard Table widgets: HTML and COLOR.

I have been working on version 2025.1.1 a few months ago and recently upgraded to 2026.1, so I am fairly confident these options were introduced somewhere in between, as I do not recall seeing them before.

I have searched through the documentation and release notes but could not find any detailed information about these two options or their intended purpose.

Could anyone provide clarification on the following?

What is the purpose of the HTML format option for table columns in Modern Dashboards?
What is the purpose of the COLOR format option?
Were these options introduced in a specific release between 2025.1.1 and 2026.1?

Additionally, if anyone has already implemented these options and could share some screenshots of the results, it would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like the html format allows for html code to be added.

Color, not sure about.

Think this is new in 2026.1. New is also that you can add your own color mapping, in for example a Pie chart.

The Color formatter will be removed in a future release (it is used for another feature and should not show here)

The HTML formatter will remain and we added an note to update our documentation on it. Internally tracked under OO-60463
