As a result, critical chassis components such as:
- Line Cards (LC)
- Fabric Modules (FM)
- Supervisor Modules (SUP)
- System Controllers (SC)
are not visible in the Hardware Health widget.
Impact
In enterprise chassis platforms:
- Module failures
- Online diagnostic failures
- Missing fabric modules
- Supervisor faults
are not detected by default hardware health polling.
This creates a monitoring gap for critical infrastructure components.
Currently, customers must:
- Create custom Universal Device Pollers (UnDP)
- Build custom alerts
- Maintain manual logic for module state mapping
This increases operational complexity.
