If you are wanting to exclude certain entities from an alerting scope, try the below:
1. Go to Alert Settings
2. Create Alert
3. Enter details for the alert
3. Select Metric Condition
4. Select your Entity type - for example 'Servers'
5. Select the scope 'Search Query'
6. Enter the below with your keywords instead
name:!~sql AND name:!~ad AND name:!~esxi
*This means do not show entities with sql , ad or esxi in the name.
7. Ensure that your scope under 'Overview' is reflecting this
