Adding Tasks to an Incident when Created

I see you can use the Process tab on a Service Catalog form to add a condition and actions to add Tasks to that Request but I don't see a way to add Tasks to Incidents automatically when they are created (I know you can manually go in and add tasks on that tab). Anyone know a way to automatically add tasks to an Incident on creation?

Hi @leos, this is possible today with our runbook functionality. Runbooks allows you to apply a set list of approvals, tasks, actions, etc on an incident adhoc and very soon via automations. Runbooks is apart of our Premier plan and helps to ensure your agents have the correct tasks in place to resolve the issue at hand. It also allows you to quickly run process integrations to call out to other services to perform actions or get more information before your agent even gets to the ticket. You can see more here

Outside of runbooks, there is no way to auto create tasks when an incident is created. This would be a feature request that we recommend submitting here on THWACK for tracking and voting.

Currently, there is no native way in SolarWinds Service Desk to automatically attach predefined Tasks to an Incident at the moment it is created (unlike the Process tab behavior available for Service Catalog items).

I’ve also heard that SolarWinds is planning enhancements around Runbooks / automation that would allow triggering structured processes (including task generation) when an Incident is created.
