The Orion installer and/or Configuration Wizard overwrites any customizations that were previously made to SWNetPerfMon.DB. If a customer has to make changes to this file, chances are excellent that those changes will be needed in the future. Those customizations should be retained so the customer doesn't need to go back and re-create them after every upgrade or Config Wizard run.
For example, we have a SQL Server cluster with database servers at different sites, in different subnets. We need to add the "MultiSubnetFailover=True" clause to the connection string in SWNetPerfMon.DB. This requirement does not changed between upgrades.
As it is now, we have to reapply this customization to all of our Solarwinds servers after every upgrade (in fact, this causes the Config Wizard step to break during upgrades). Upgrades will go more smoothly if this customization is retained during the upgrade process.
