Query to create a NPM Widget

We are trying to create a graphical pie chart to visualize the number of users connected to each SSID within our SolarWinds environment.

I am using the graphical builder tool to create this chart. When attempting to select the data source, I noticed the entity names Orion.Packages.Wireless.SSIDs and Orion.Packages.Wireless.Clients appear to be unavailable or do not function correctly within the builder interface.

Could someone help me with the correct graphical query builder or the proper SWQL query required to build this specific chart?

I suspect this is one of those "WADs" - aka working as designed.

I've noticed that not all data in the DB is equal when it comes to creating widgets or modern dashboards. You could try reaching out to your product manager and see if they have any internal links that could advise.

Can it be maybe that the "tables" Orion.Packages.Wireless.Clients are a bit new. Used to be under Orion.Wireless.Clients.

I don't have many clients nor ssid's in my lab but wrote below SWQL query. Can it be enough for you?

SELECT

Count(W.id) AS Qty

,W.SSID

FROM Orion.Packages.Wireless.Clients AS W

GROUP BY

W.SSID

Very close! But forgot the "AS". This should work.

SELECT W.SSID, COUNT(W.SSID) AS Clients
FROM Orion.Packages.Wireless.Clients W
GROUP BY W.SSID
