Web Portal UI
SQL Sentry’s web interface, simply called Portal, has a completely new and modern look. It was revamped with a high priority placed on performance and security. This is largely a port of the existing portal, but some navigation improvements have been made. Look for a migration of the remaining thick client pages in future releases.
Highlights:
- Multi-tenancy: You can still connect to multiple SQL Sentry installs from Portal. Now, instead of seeing your entire estate in the left-side inventory pane, you can select a single SQL Sentry install (aka “tenant”) to view.
- Dark and Light modes: You can choose the mode that best suits your preference.
- Use of drawers: This new UI incorporates the use of “drawers” that slide-in from the right to provide valuable contextual information. This approach allows you to stay in-context while providing the necessary screen space to clearly show information.
- Grids remember user settings: Grids are used throughout Portal, providing the capability of showing/hiding columns, sorting, changing column width and rearranging column order. They also allow you to list data at various row densities. SQL Sentry uses cookie-like capabilities to remember your settings for each grid, so you’ll enjoy seeing your previous settings automatically applied when you return to a grid.
