Revisiting Platform Connect with SW Observability Self-Hosted for the use of Anomaly

Hi THWACK,

I am a little confused revisiting the steps of getting Anomaly Based Alerts going in SolarWinds Observability Self-Hosted.

SW specifies under requirements of the below link that a 'SaaS' eval or active license is required for connecting to a SW SaaS instance via Platform Connect.

But it has been previously mentioned on here that I can just Anomaly Based Alerts going with an eval license and then it was implied that it would just continue to work?

My question is, if I go through the process of getting an eval license for SaaS, install the SaaS agents on my HA Self-Hosted deployment, connect to the SaaS instance and begin configuring ABA's - what would happen when my eval expires?

Can we still continue to use ABA without a SaaS license on Self-Hosted?

Short: Yes

You just have to start an eval instance of Observability Saas and it will continue to role as long as you have the platform connect going.

Hi Lofstrand, simple or silly question first time SWOSH user. I dont have a current AWS, or Azure, or Google tennant, and therefore I see that I am not able to use the platform connect. The select provider dropdown, doesnt show any info

Hi @RAJPAD , I heard that once before. It then was an issue that the SolarWinds server didn't have access to internet due to some proxy issues (or didn't have access when some service was started). A restart of the server solved it then.

If this doesn't help I suggest you reach out to support.
